Springbank 14 Year Old Tasting Room

I got this sample from my buddy Jan VC, who visited the distillery and filled his bottle in the tasting room (I also got a sample of the Hazelburn, Longrow and Kilkerran Tasting Room and will try them soon). The nose is creamy and a tad farmy. Think (albeit pretty clean) horse stable. Also the sweetness of prunes, cherries and sugared almonds....

Springbank 10 Year Old 2006 Duty Paid Sample

My buddy Anthony brought back this gem from Springbank. A duty paid sample at 57.3% from a first fill sherry hogshead. I guess I’m in for a treat. Some weird nose on baby sick, matchsticks, pickles (!) and dark fruit like figs. That is upholstered with some candied sugar, but also some varnish and cherry liqueur. Very amusing, but not very easy....
