Augier Freres is widely believed to be the oldest Cognac house in France. Whether this is true or not, it is certainly very old with records showing it was trading during the late 17th century.
By 1966 the brand was owned by Seagram who themselves were bought by Martell. Martell was eventually bought by Pernod Ricard and sadly the Augier Freres brand no longer exists. The good new is some of the bottles do and Augier cognac changes hands at increasingly higher prices.
